Contact Lens Fitting

Contact lenses rest on the cornea and it is essential to fit them correctly to each eye.

We are an accredited centre for fitting Ortho-K lenses.

There are basically two different types of contact lenses in the market.

Firstly, we have rigid gas permeable lenses (rigid or hard) and, secondly, hydrogel lenses (soft).

Soft contact lenses include those made of conventional hydrogel and those made of silicone hydrogel, which allow greater oxygen transmission to the cornea.

Depending on the refractive defect they are compensating, we differentiate between spherical contact lenses (compensate for myopia and hyperopia), toric contact lenses (compensate for astigmatism) and multifocal contact lenses (compensate for presbyopia).

At Clínica Oftalmológica Castro we adapt all these types of contact lenses, basing our choice on the specific needs of each individual patient.
We also explain to the patient everything related to the handling, cleaning and precautions necessary for a correct and healthy use of contact lenses.

At Clínica Oftalmológica Castro we carry out a thorough assessment of vision and eye health to determine the most suitable contact lenses for each patient.
