PRK surgery
PRK surgery consists of laser treatment performed directly on the surface of the cornea.
At Clínica Oftalmológica Castro, we recommend this surgery for patients with tendacy to “rub their eyes” and for those who tend to carry out risky activities.
The “surface treatment” procedure consists of the manual removal of the epithelium – a thin layer on the surface of the cornea – which is then regenerated during the post-surgery period. Once removed, the excimer laser acts on the corneal tissue, remodelling its shape and changing its curvature.
Recovery time is longer than for other procedures but it can be a good option for patients with very thin corneas. At the end of the procedure, the patient must wear a therapeutic contact lens for a period of time to help the epithelial tissue heal and regenerate.

He is such a professional. I had my operation with him 15 years ago (and it was a different technique) and I deeply recommend him to everyone who is able to have surgery. Very happy (via FACEBOOK)
